We're supporting The Wave Project for Mental Health Awareness Week
This Mental Health Awareness Week, we at Pineapple Island are proud to support the incredible work of The Wave Project and their transformative Surf Therapy programmes.
As a long-standing partner of The Wave Project, we've seen how their innovative approach helps young people struggling with their mental health. That's why we're urging our community to donate to their Big-Give match-funding campaign running 14-21 May 2024.
Contributions will be doubled by up to £10,000, allowing The Wave Project to reach and support even more children in need. Follow @WaveProjectUK or visit their website to make a difference.
1 in 5 UK children struggle with their mental health. Ramon Van de Velde, CEO at The Wave Project said: “Our team and volunteers see first-hand what a difference surf therapy can make. The children who take part in our evidence-based programmes demonstrate significantly increased confidence, resilience and self-esteem, as well as a more positive outlook on life. The current cost-of-living crisis only adds to the challenges young people face, so these life-changing interventions are needed now more than ever.”
